Description
A 2D adventure game. You are a new resident of the town Autumnville and you finally decide to attend the local fair to make new friends. Your goal is to make as many followers as possible playing all the mini-games at the fair. This game was made for the IGCN Game Jam over 7 days by a team of 2.
My Role - Game Developer
I worked with one other person on this project who provided the art and dialogue for the game. I was the only developer for the game and implemented three fair mini-games with a simple dialogue system. The first game is a card matching game, the second is a guess the number game, and the last is a classic milk bottle game. Each of these had different mechanics and ways to win. The player can move to each of these three games and gain as many followers as possible. My goal of this game was to experiment with different types of gameplay to learn more about that variability of anxiety and boredom. The Card matching game used more chance rather than skill where the milk bottle game required more skill than chance. It was very interesting to get feedback from our playtesters and apply it to future games.
