Libertalia

Libertalia

Description

As a pirate admiral in the Golden Age of Piracy, it is your goal to build a pirate paradise for you and your crew. Explore the open seas to find new territories to plunder, participate in open-sea battles, and hunt sea monsters. Raid settlements with your crew in land combat simulations. By managing your crew's strengths and resources in these three unique phases, you'll develop your outpost from shantytown to fortress, become a formidable force on the seas, and lead professional brigands. That is, if your crew can best other pirates, colonialists, skeleton crews, and legendary sea monsters.

Libertalia is a game currently being worked on as a Master's Capstone project in the Game Design & Development program at RIT. Within a team of 5, hence our teamname "5 Sheets to the Wind", I took up the role of a core developer.

As a Developer

Much of my effort so far has been focused on the Outpost scene in Libertalia. This covers a variety of areas such as gameplay, control, and UI programming, code Architecture, and data management. These areas are where I get to exercise my problem-solving skills to curate our intended user experience. My individual research for this project involves implementing the procedural generation of enemy islands the player will encounter.
